WeWork, the leading flexible space provider, will begin accepting payment in select cryptocurrencies
WeWork, the leading flexible space provider, will begin accepting payment in select cryptocurrencies as part of a partnership with processing service BitPay. The first member of the program is the Coinbase exchange.
Te company will accept Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Paxos (PAX), and several other cryptocurrencies. WeWork intends to keep the received currency on its balance sheet.
WeWork CEO, Sandeep Mathrani, explained the expansion of payment methods as a desire to satisfy the needs of customers.
"When we think about the workplace of the future and business, we have to consider cryptocurrency a central part of that conversation. Cryptocurrency helps build a stronger global economy," said WeWork Chairman Marcelo Claure.
The Block analyst Larry Cermak pointed to a "big shift in sentiment" among large companies. According to him, in 2021, the companies that announce support for payments in cryptoassets actually keep them on their balance sheets.
