According to the report of the analytical company Glassnode, the income of Bitcoin miners reached a record
According to the report of the analytical company Glassnode, the income of Bitcoin miners reached a record high of $52.3 million per day ($366.1 million per week). Experts note that the miners managed to increase their income, despite the halving of the reward for the mined block, which took place in May 2020.
After the third halving in the history of cryptocurrency, the reward for the mined block has been reduced from 12.5 to 6.25 bitcoins. Glassnode notes that in the post halving #3 era, miners earned about 1,000 bitcoins per day. Transaction fees were only a tenth of that amount.
Now the activity of transactions related to cryptocurrency exchanges is growing, and such fees already account for about 30% of the total amount. In February, miners already managed to earn $354.4 million in a week and break the 2017 record. At that time, fees accounted for about 15% of income.
